Introduction

Infection of the striated muscle of mammals by parasites of the genus SARCOCYSTIS. Disease symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, muscle weakness, and paralysis are produced by sarcocystin, a toxin produced by the organism.

主要研究目的：本研究以珠海润都制药股份有限公司生产的伏立康唑干混悬剂（规格：45g:3g）为受试制剂，原研持证商Pf Prism CV的伏立康唑干混悬剂（商品名：Vfend®；规格：40mg/ml）为参比制剂，评估受试制剂和参比制剂在空腹条件下给药时的生物等效性。次要研究目的：观察受试制剂和参比制剂在健康受试者中的安全性。

Main research purpose: This study uses voriconazole dry suspension (specification: 45g:3g) produced by Zhuhai Rundu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. as the test preparation and voriconazole dry suspension (trade name: Vfend®; specification: 40mg/ml) of the original license holder Pf Prism CV as the reference preparation to evaluate the bioequivalence of the test preparation and the reference preparation when administered under fasting conditions. Secondary research purpose: Observe the safety of the test preparation and the reference preparation in healthy subjects.

Clinicopathologic, molecular, and ultrastructural features of Sarcocystis pinnipedi infection in 2 California sea lions with fatal necrotizing hepatitis

Sarcocystis pinnipedi is an apicomplexan protozoal parasite that was first recognized during a mass mortality event in juvenile grey seals ( Halichoerus grypus ) in the northwest Atlantic Ocean. Since its identification, this parasite has been reported in various pinniped species and has been associated with fatal necrotizing hepatitis. Little is known of the host range of S. pinnipedi . Here we report 2 cases of California sea lions ( Zalophus californianus ) in managed care that died following an 8-d history of inappetence, vomiting, diarrhea, and progressive lethargy with elevated hepatic enzyme activities. Postmortem examination identified hepatitis and icterus. Sarcocystis schizonts and zoites were identified in regions of necrosis. Molecular and ultrastructural findings demonstrated the close relatedness of this Sarcocystis to S. canis , which produces a similar lesion in bears.

Sarcocystis infection in domestic and wild avian hosts: Inseparable flight partners

Sarcocystis infections have been reported from numerous avian species. A remarkable number of valid Sarcocystis species infecting birds have been identified and named having avian species as intermediate hosts (n = 32). Only 14 species have their complete biological cycle known due to the difficulties in conducting in vivo experiments. In addition, at least 16 Sarcocystis species have been confirmed by molecular techniques to use birds as their definitive hosts. The present paper reviews recent findings in the field and remarks on the contribution of molecular tools to unravel important aspects of the epidemiology of the genus. Clinical diagnosis is discussed. Three Sarcocystis species, Sarcocystis falcatula, Sarcocystis calchasi, and Sarcocystis halieti have wide host range and cause clinical sarcocystosis in many avian species. Limitations of currently available molecular markers and animal experimentation to distinguish closely related Sarcocystis species are discussed.

To elucidate the epidemiology of Sarcocystis spp. parasites in human intestinal infections, we used high-throughput sequencing to investigate human intestinal sarcocystosis cases identified by microscopy in France during 2021-2024. Our results indicate that humans are a definitive host of S. sigmoideus parasites and that occurrence of multiple species in 1 patient is common.
