We examined methods of producing a new slow-release fertilizer that retains long-term fertilizer efficiency, even during continuous short-term cultivation and long-term cultivation, following the application of a single basal dressing. The aim for this new slow-release fertilizer is long-term fertilizer efficiency not currently possible with conventional slow-release fertilizers. We produced several types of compound fertilizer with different ratios of methylol urea polymerization fertilizer (MU) and acidic fertilizer raw materials (magnesium sulfate and superphosphate). The degree of decomposition of the MU fertilizer differed according to the ratio of fertilizer components.By combining several of these compound fertilizers with different degrees of MU decomposition, we could produce a new slow-release fertilizer that was designated as a mixed fertilizer.
