Matrikines in cosmetics, the new generation of peptides

A review.The stimulation of the synthesis of collagen IV by matrikine peptides was investigated in cultured human fibroblasts and in cosmetic studies.The palmitoyl peptide Pal-KTTKS stimulated collagen IV synthesis in concentrations of 2, 4, and 8 ppm.Increased production of matrix macromols. was confirmed in ex vivo studies.Anti-wrinkling activity was observed using a cosmetic crime containing 3 ppm Pal-KTTKS or 4 ppm Pal-VGVAPG.
