The results are presented of a comparison between anal. predictions of the 1st LOFT nuclear test (L2-2) and subsequent test results.The test prediction was made with the RETRAN thermohydraulic computer code.LOFT test L2-2 was a full area, double-ended, cold leg break simulation, with the core operating at 24.88 MW (maximum linear heat generation of 26.37 kW/m.The validity and usefulness (for comparison with anal.) of the exptl. results as reported by E.G. and G. Idaho, Inc. are also discussed.
