Green Bioactives Reveals Cognitive Benefits of New Memory-Boosting Product GBL-Memory

7 June 2024
Green Bioactives Limited (GBL), a forward-thinking technology company dedicated to developing sustainable, plant-based products, has announced promising results from a clinical study involving their innovative nutraceutical product, GBL-Memory1. This study, published in the peer-reviewed journal Food Science and Nutrition, reveals that GBL-Memory1 can enhance memory by up to 10.1%. The product, which is a unique formulation of L-theanine and Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), has been launched in the UK and Germany.

The rise in cognitive impairment, including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia, particularly among the aging population, underscores the necessity for effective solutions. This clinical study aims to respond to this need by exploring the efficacy of GBL-Memory1 in improving memory functions.

The research, led by the late Professor Gary Loake of the University of Edinburgh and Chief Scientific Officer at Green Bioactives, included 120 healthy participants. The participants were divided into two groups: one taking the GBL-Memory1 supplement and the other a placebo, over a period of 30 days. Significant memory improvements were observed in the group taking the supplement.

Utilizing the Clinical Memory Scale, the study measured various aspects of memory improvement, such as directed memory, associative learning, meaningless image recognition, graphic memory, and portrait retrieval. The results indicated that GBL-Memory1 contributed to noticeable enhancements in these areas.

Dr. Yuan Li, a co-author of the study, highlighted the breakthrough nature of GBL-Memory1 in cognitive enhancement, offering a natural and effective option for boosting brain health and cognitive performance. Dr. David McElroy, CEO of Green Bioactives, expressed enthusiasm about the clinical validation and launch of GBL-Memory1, stating that the significant improvements reported affirm the product's potential to positively impact memory and overall brain function.

The first product release under the name Memocentrix took place in Germany in May, followed by the UK in June. GBL-Memory1 is now available to consumers through Green Bioactives’ brand partners.

A long-term user of GBL-Memory1, Rudi Neidhardt, shared his positive experiences with the supplement, noting substantial improvements in memory and cognitive function, such as recalling where he places his wallet and keys and remembering names from his past. He described these changes as life-changing, attributing a heightened sense of clarity and confidence to the supplement.

Dr. Clara Doran, a Senior Clinical Investigator at Scottish Brain Sciences, commented on the encouraging outcomes of combining L-theanine and FOS. She emphasized the importance of finding natural ways to enhance memory, recall, and productivity, especially in today's fast-paced world. Dr. Doran suggested that future research into these plant-based ingredients could benefit various populations, including the elderly and women experiencing brain fog during menopause.

In summary, GBL-Memory1, Green Bioactives' first nutraceutical product, presents a promising solution for improving cognitive health. This innovative combination of L-theanine and FOS demonstrates significant potential for helping individuals enhance their brain function and memory, addressing the growing challenge of cognitive decline in an aging population.
