Neurona Therapeutics to Join Jefferies Global Healthcare Conference

Neurona’s leading product, NRTX-1001, is composed of GABAergic interneurons and is currently undergoing safety and efficacy evaluation in two Phase 1/2 clinical trials. These trials, identified by the clinical trial number NCT05135091, are targeting drug-resistant unilateral temporal lobe epilepsy (UTLE) and bilateral temporal lobe epilepsy (BTLE). The company also plans to extend its research to include neocortical focal epilepsy (NFE) and other neurological conditions in the future.

A noteworthy update from the Phase 1/2 trial in UTLE was presented at the American Academy of Neurology’s 2024 Annual Meeting, highlighting promising results. Earlier in February 2024, Neurona successfully raised $120 million through private financing. This funding round was co-led by Viking Global Investors and Cormorant Asset Management, providing a solid financial foundation for the company’s ongoing and future research initiatives.
