Clinical Trials associated with MCT-101Capsule Microbiota Transplant Therapy for Hidradenitis Suppurativa
HS is relatively common in the United States with a prevalence of 0.1-1.0%. 1 HS has a dramatic impact on quality of life, significantly more so than other chronic skin diseases, such as psoriasis or atopic dermatitis (AD). HS also has a large economic impact, due to frequent emergency department and inpatient care utilization, and re-hospitalization rates similar to congestive heart failure. Unfortunately, few treatment options are effective. There is only one currently FDA-approved treatment, adalimumab, but only 40- 60% respond to treatment and over 50% lose response within one year . The overarching goal of this pilot study is to investigate the central hypothesis that oral microbiota transplant therapy(MTT) alters the gut microbiome in patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), influencing cutaneous microbiota via systemically absorbed gut-derived metabolites.
A Randomized Double Blind Phase II Trial of Restorative Microbiota Therapy (RMT) in Combination With Durvalumab (MEDI4736) and Chemotherapy in Untreated Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Adenocarcinoma Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
This is a randomized, active-controlled, parallel-group, double-blind Phase II trial, of oral restorative microbiota therapy (RMT) or placebo combined with intravenous (IV) durvalumab (MEDI4736) plus chemotherapy in patients with treatment naïve advanced or metastatic adenocarcinoma non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
Fecal Microbiota Transplant for Postoperative Crohn's Disease
People with Crohn's disease often need surgery. The gut bacteria of people with Crohn's is associated with Crohn's disease coming back after surgery. Fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) after surgery might be a way to prevent Crohn's disease from coming back after surgery.
This study aims to determine if fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) taken by capsules results in the same amount of good bacteria in the guts as FMT by colonoscopy in people with Crohn's disease who have had surgery.
Participants will be randomized to get FMT by capsules or colonoscopy. Colonoscopy with biopsies 8-weeks after the FMT will be used to assess the good bacteria in the gut.
