Clinical Trials associated with Autologou tumor mRNA transfected dendritic cells (Oslo University Hospital)Open Label Randomized Phase II/III Trial of Dendritic Cell Immunotherapy Against Cancer Stem Cells in Glioblastoma Patients Receiving Standard Therapy (DEN-STEM)
Open, randomized study of a trivalent dendritic cell therapy compared to standard therapy in primary treated patients with IDH wild-type, MGMT-promotor methylated glioblastoma. The IMP is dendritic cells transfected with mRNA of survivin, hTERT og autologous tumor stem cells derived from tumorspheres.
Open Label, Phase II, Study: Sequential Intranodal Immunotherapy (SIIT) Combined With Anti-PD1 (Pembrolizumab) in Patients With Stage III/IV Untreated and Relapsed Follicular Lymphoma
Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the most common subtype of indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and is often diagnosed in advanced incurable stage. In our previous trail, Lymvac-1, patients were treated with sequential intratumoral injections of low-dose rituximab and autologous dendritic cells, combined with local radiotherapy at the same site. The aim was to overcome tumor tolerance. In this trial, clinical responses correlated strongly with systemic anti-tumor CD8+ T-cell responses detected in blood after therapy. The primary aim of the planned study (Lymvac-2) is to significantly improve rates of immunological and clinical responses by adding iv anti-PD-1 antibody (Pembrolizumab) relative to the cohort of patients previously treated with intranodal immunotherapy without Pembrolizumab (Lymvac-1). The study includes 10 patients with untreated or relapsed FL.
Phase I/II Trial of Vaccine Therapy in Recurrent Platinum Sensitive Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Patients Using Autologous Dendritic Cells Loaded With Amplified Ovarian Cancer Stem Cell mRNA, hTERT and Survivin.
In this study the investigators will include patients with relapsed epithelial ovarian cancer. In spite of increased rates of complete response to initial chemotherapy, most patients with advanced ovarian cancer relapse and succumb to progressive disease. Immunotherapy may have potential for consolidation therapy. Dendritic cell vaccine is well toleranted in previous studies, with minor side effects and no serious adverse events registrated In this study, patients will receive DC-vaccine therapy after response to platinum treatment at relapse. The investigtors include patients in good clinical condition with no severe symptoms of the disease. If patients relapse during vaccine treatment, they will be discontinued from the study.
The investigators have included hTERT- and survivin mRNA in addition to amplified cancer stem cell mRNA in the vaccine.
