ODG by MCG to Release Updated Return-to-Work Benchmarks for 2023

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ODG by MCG, an MCG Health company and part of the Hearst Health network, announces the release of updated datasets within the ODG Return-to-Work Guidelines that will support both prospective case management and retrospective benchmarking time away from work. The update, scheduled for release on February 3, 2023, will include revisions to the United States return-to-work (RTW) duration values and new RTW duration values for Canada across the workers’ compensation and non-occupational disability (STD/LTD) markets in both countries. Updates to duration values for the Australian market are planned for later in 2023.
'The best measure of post-injury success in workers\u2019 comp and disability cases is RTW. Our goal is to help organizations achieve optimal outcomes with accurate reporting using evidence-based RTW and treatment guidelines, putting injured workers at the center.'
The updated return-to-work benchmarks will be included in both the ODG for Workers’ Compensation and ODG for Disability solutions. The analytics can be filtered by diagnosis and procedure, including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and Super Topic groupers, with claims-specific modeling using comorbidities, demographics, and confounding factors. Another feature of the ODG solutions, the ODG Risk Assessment Scores, are derivatives of the ODG return-to-work benchmarks and will adjust automatically.
ODG Managing Director, Phil LeFevre, shared, “With the acquisition and processing of millions of new workers’ comp and disability claims from data-sharing partners, including Canadian carriers for the first time, I am looking forward to the release of these updated benchmarks.”
“This release continues ODG’s efforts to help optimize timely return-to-work and accurate reporting, and it will provide great benefit to ODG customers. Now, they can proactively use data-driven tools like the ODG RTW Calculator to determine appropriate duration values for return-to-work specific to the U.S., Canada, and Australia by market segment,” said LeFevre. “The best measure of post-injury success in workers’ comp and disability cases is RTW. Our goal is to help organizations achieve optimal outcomes with accurate reporting using evidence-based RTW and treatment guidelines, putting injured workers at the center.”
