St John of God Health Care taking Magentus' oncology IMS Australia-wide

Not-for-profit healthcare organisation St John of God Health Care has announced the rollout of an oncology information management system by Magentus across its hospitals in Australia.
The Charm Evolution oncology IMS connects critical information about a cancer patient's care journey into a single digital record.
Based on a media release, the system will be introduced as a centralised oncology patient record across SJOG's Australian hospitals – Bunbury, Geraldton, Midland, Murdoch, Berwick, Bendigo and Ballarat.
WHY IT MATTERS
Charm Evolution offers seamless interoperability with SJOG's enterprise PAS, digital medical record, pathology, and My Health Record, enabling "improved collaboration and continuity of care" through this nationwide implementation, Magentus said.
THE LARGER CONTEXT
The country-wide rollout of Charm Evolution follows a successful
pilot at SJOG Subiaco Hospital
’s Bendat Family Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
Peter Smart, the hospital's chief pharmacist, said the system has "significantly improved clarity of prescribing and administration instructions, and the ability to force safety functions."
He added that the oncology IMS has also delivered "improved visibility and reportability around patient status and waiting times, enhanced governance over treatment pathways, and improved communication between our nursing and pharmacy teams, with real-time notifications for product readiness."
The solution is being delivered as part of SJOG's contract with then-Citadel Health, which consolidated with Genie Solutions and Wellbeing Software in May to form the company now known as Magentus.
In other related news, Magentus also recently delivered the same oncology IMS to Peninsula Health, which runs six public health facilities in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region in Victoria.
