Home-based cancer care platform Reimagine Care announced it is partnering with in-home care provider DispatchHealth to provide virtual-to-home care for oncology patients.
Reimagine Care partners with providers and health plans to coordinate care in the home to avoid unnecessary inpatient visits. Reimagine clinicians can remotely monitor patients, work with oncologists to determine whether patients need additional services and send home care workers to assist.
Denver-based DispatchHealth allows patients to request an in-home urgent care medical visit via telephone or the company's app or website. The care team includes a physician assistant or nurse practitioner and/or a medical technician. Care teams are remotely supported by an emergency medicine physician if needed.
Through the collaboration, cancer patients will have access to virtual-to-home care as well as coordinated care between Reimagine Care, DispatchHealth and the patient's primary oncology care team.
"Supporting patients virtually, through our experienced oncology clinicians, and in the home, through this partnership with DispatchHealth, will alleviate many of the triage and symptom management demands on clinicians while improving the cancer care experience for patients and their families," Dr. Pallav Mehta, medical director for Reimagine Care, said in a statement.
THE LARGER TREND
Earlier this month, Reimagine Care announced the appointment of Dan Nardi as its new CEO. Nardi previously held the position of chief operating officer at employer-focused specialty care platform Carrum Health.
Last year, Reimagine scored $25 million in Series A funding. It also announced a partnership with complex care management platform Memora Health. Reimagine would leverage Memora's clinical intelligence platform to scale its virtual care center to support cancer patients and caregivers at home.
DispatchHealth has also established several partnerships. Last month, the company said Georgia-based healthcare system Emory Healthcare would incorporate DispatchHealth's Acute Care, Bridge Care and ED-to-Home programs into its offerings.
The company also established partnerships with Blue Shield of California, Oklahoma's Saint Francis Health System, Marshfield Clinic Health System and California-based virtual care company Included Health, which provides healthcare benefits and insurance navigation services, as well as virtual primary care, behavioral health, specialty care and 24/7 urgent care appointments.
DispatchHealth raised $330 million in funding in November, bringing its total raise to over $700 million. The company scored $200 million in Series D financing a year prior.
