AdvaMed Launches Digital Health Tech Division

The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) recently announced the formation of a Digital Health Tech division to represent digital medical technology companies, as well as promote the role of data and digital medtech in the innovation of healthcare. The group will focus on four core policy areas: regulations, payment and healthcare delivery, data stewardship and privacy, and cybersecurity.
“Digital technology is rapidly evolving and making a profound impact on the care patients receive, and the medtech industry is at the forefront of this new era of care,” said Scott Whitaker, AdvaMed President and CEO, in the company announcement. “While AdvaMed has long been a leader in digital health policy, this new division, led by GE HealthCare’s Taha Kass-Hout and AdvaMed’s Shaye Mandle, will enable us to expand our work as this ever-evolving technology paves the way for new innovation at a faster pace. There will be a great deal of legislative, regulatory, and payment policies to be implemented in the coming years with the proliferation of AI and digital health platforms into our health care system, and AdvaMed looks forward to working with lawmakers and the Administration to implement them in a way that benefits patients.”
