For dishwashing detergents with low P content the synergism of conventional and bio-based ingredients is favorable.Four formulations were tested. For the green complexing agents carboxymethylinulin and sodium citrate a synergism with polyacrylates were found. In suitable combination, better results can be obtained with respect to the prevention of the drop and film forming. In the tests of the rinsing performance it was shown that performance enhancing components, such as complexing agents and polymers, are required to achieve comparable results to STPP-containing cleaning tabs.Phosphate-free detergents without these performance-enhancing ingredients didn't lead to any satisfactory result.Formulations based on CMI and citrate/carbonate contribute to the development of cost-relevant formulations.
