A review of the use of nanoscale clays and carbon nanotubes for improvement of mech., elec. and thermal properties of thermoplastic materials for automobile industry.The incorporation of nanoscale fillers into polyoxyphenylene-polyamide blends (e.g., Noryl-type) is emphasized with respect to production of bumpers, fenders and other large parts.The cost effects, online paintability, and combinations with alternative fillers are also considered.
