A high performance liquid chromatog. (HPLC) method for determining the content of ceftizoxime in ceftizoxime sodium for injection/sodium chloride injection was established.HPLC was performed using a C18 column with mixed solvent of pH 3.6 buffer solution (dissolving 1.42 g of citric acid monohydrate and 2.31 g of disodium hydrogen phosphate into water to obtain 1000 mL of solution)-acetonitrile (9:1) as the mobile phase at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min.The injection volume was 20 μl, the wavelength was set at 254 nm and the column temperature was 25°.The ceftizoxime showed a good linear relationship between the concentration and peak area in the range of 60.04-140.09 μg/mL, and the regression equation was Y = 20920X +31143 (r = 0.9999).The average recovery was 99.69%, and RSD was 0.20%.The established HPLC method can be used to determine the content of ceftizoxime in ceftizoxime sodium for injection/sodium chloride injection.
