[Objective] To understand the status of tobacco-planting soil in Wannan Area.[Method] 139 soil samples were collected and analyzed from two cities of Wannan Anhui Tobacco District and 30 tobacco-producing townships covered by five tobacco stations in four tobacco-producing counties (districts), Huangdu, Chengqu, Wuhu, Nanling and Jingxian.[Result] The average soil pH was 5.87 in Huangdu, 5.62 in Chenqu, 5.77 in Wuhu, 5.76 in Nanling, 5.44 in Langxi and 5.61 in Jingxian; the average organic matter content in tobacco-growing soils was 22.80 g/kg in Huangdu, 26.23 g/kg in Chenqu, 27.19 g/kg in Wuhu, 31.42 g/kg in Nanling, 22.65 g/kg in Langxi and 30.72 g/kg in Jingxian; the mainly distribution range of total nitrogen content was 1.00-2.00 g/kg, the soil total nitrogen of 41.18% was 2.00 g/kg, the main distribution range of alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen content was more than 120 mg/kg.[Conclusion] Soils grown in tobacco-planting areas in Wannan Area are mainly acidic to slightly acidic, they are basically within the optimum range, soil organic matter is abundant.The soil of total nitrogen and alk. hydrolyzable nitrogen content is higher, available potassium content is low, the soil fertility characteristics had greater differences among different tobacco stations.

Effect of different tobacco-loading methods on energy consumption and tobacco quality

In order to investigate the effect of different tobacco-loading methods on energy consumption and tobacco quality (electricity and coal consumption, proportion of tobacco grading, chem. constitutions and smoking quality) during the tobacco curing, the experiment of loading tobacco leaf was conducted with traditional loading and mezzo loading.The results showed that mezzo loading decreased electricity and coal consumption by 0.020-0.035 kW·h and 0.10-0.24 kg per kg resp. during curing through increasing tobacco-loading d.The smoking quality score of mezzoly-loaded tobacco leaves was higher than that of traditionally loaded tobacco leaves after curing.In addition, the difference of chem. constitutions and tobacco grading between these two different methods of loading was inconspicuous.

Analysis on accuracy and uncertainty in determination of ammonia in different kinds of tobacco

[Objective] The aim was to study the concentration range of calibration curve to improve the accuracy of the determination of ammonia in different kinds of tobacco with continuous flow method.[Method] Three different calibration curves were drawn for determination of ammonia content in different tobacco and the concentration range of standard solution was 0.2-2.0 mg/L, 1.0-10.0 mg/L and 10.0-100.0 mg/L, resp.The uncertainty of this measurement was analyzed and assessed.[Result] Tobacco products were divided into 4 groups according to ammonia content.The concentration range of calibration curve had a significant influence on the test results, that was the greater the concentration range, the lower the accuracy and precision of test results.The RSD_max was less than 0.9%, and the rate of recovery was 99.9%-100.7%.The uncertainty of this measurement were as followed: (0.0425±0.0016)‰ for flue-cured tobacco 1, (0.437±0.012)‰ for oriental tobacco, (5.04±0.13)‰ for burley 1.[Conclusion] The above interval differentiate was reasonable, and the detection data was accurate and reliable.
