Adverse drug reaction (ADR) refers to the harmful reactions of qualified drugs that are unrelated to the purpose of medication under normal usage and dosage. Adverse drug reactions are caused by the inherent characteristics of drugs, and any drug may cause adverse reactions. Internationally, there is a unified definition of adverse drug event. Adverse drug event (abbreviated as ADE) refers to adverse clinical events that occur in the course of drug treatment, and it is not necessarily causally related to the drug. Adverse drug events and adverse drug reactions have different meanings. Generally speaking, adverse drug reactions refer to reactions whose causality has been determined, while adverse drug events refer to reactions whose causality has not yet been determined. It often appears in foreign drug instructions. This reaction is not sure to be caused by the drug, and further evaluation is needed.
