About 90 % of vascular symptoms affecting the lower limbs consist of venous diseases. Its highest incidence occurs from the second decade of life, affecting significantly the economically active population. Chronic Venous Insufficiency treatment aims to relieve symptoms, treat and prevent complications, prevent recurrences and provide cosmetic satisfaction with minimal side effects. It's current treatment includes some classic postural measures (leg elevation), elastic stockings and bandages compression therapy and possible medication (phlebotonics). The results in the medium and long term are unfavorable, since a large number of patients do not get better or evolves with recurrence of symptoms. Nowadays many, no prospective , not randomized , international studies have shown favorable results with endovascular treatment of obstruction in the iliac vein territory in patients with advanced Chronic Venous Insufficiency . The purpose of this prospective, double-blinded randomized study is to evaluate the results obtained with endovascular treatment, through the use of angioplasty and stenting in this group of patients when compared with clinical treatment .

A Systematic Review of Aminaphtone from Pathophysiology to Clinical Applications: Focus on New Rheumatological Acquisitions.

Aminaphtone is a chemical drug that has been used for more than thirty years to treat a variety of vascular disorders, with good clinical results and a satisfying safety profile. In the last two decades, multiple clinical studies have reported the efficacy of the drug in different clinical scenarios of altered microvascular reactivity, describing the downregulation of adhesion molecules (i.e., VCAM, ICAM, Selectins), vasoconstrictor peptides (i.e., Endothelin-1), and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression (i.e., IL-6, IL-10, VEGF, TGF-beta) by Aminaphtone. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge concerning Aminaphtone, with particular attention to rheumatological conditions in which microvascular disfunction plays a pivotal role, such as Raynaud's phenomenon and systemic sclerosis. These latter conditions may represent a promising field of application for Aminaphtone, due to the growing pre-clinical, clinical, and instrumental reports of efficacy. However, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials are lacking and are desirable.

Effect of aminaphtone on in vitro vascular permeability and capillary-like maintenance

Objectives Aminaphtone, a naphtohydrochinone used in the treatment of capillary disorders, may affect oedema in chronic venous insufficiency. Aim of study is to investigate the effect of aminaphtone on vascular endothelial permeability in vitro and its effects on three-dimensional capillary-like structures formed by human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Method Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were treated with 50 ng/ml VEGF for 2 h and aminaphtone for 6 h. Permeability assay, VE-cadherin expression and Matrigel assay were performed. Results VEGF-induced permeability was significantly decreased by aminaphtone in a range concentration of 1–20 µg/ml. Aminaphtone restored VE-cadherin expression. Finally, 6 h pre-treatment with aminaphtone significantly preserved capillary-like structures formed by human umbilical vein endothelial cells on Matrigel up to 48 h compared to untreated cells. Conclusions Aminaphtone significantly protects endothelium permeability and stabilises endothelial cells organised in capillary-like structures, modulating VE-cadherin expression. These data might explain the clinical benefit of aminaphtone on chronic venous insufficiency.

Hexafluoro-2-propanol as the promoter for the quick nitro reduction using a combination of iron powder and 2 N HCl aqueous solution was reported.This methodol. had several pos. features, as it was of room temperature, remarkably short reaction time.A wide range of substrates including those bearing reducible functional groups such as aldehyde, ketone, acid, ester, amide, nitrile, halogens, even allyl, propargyl and heterocycles were chemoselectively reduced in good to excellent yields, even on gram scale.Notably, the highly selective reduction of 3-nitrophenylboronic acid was achieved quant.The reduction was also tolerant of common protecting groups and aliphatic nitro compound, 1-nitrooctane could be reduced successfully.
