Lilly taps Amazon to deliver Zepbound direct to patients

13 Mar 2024
Eli Lilly has selected Amazon’s pharmacy unit as a home delivery option for medicines available via its recently-launched direct-to-consumer website, including the weight-loss therapy Zepbound (tirzepatide). The drugs can be shipped within two days, something Frank Cunningham, Eli Lilly’s senior vice president of global value and access, said is “a wonderful advantage.”
LillyDirect launched in January, allowing patients in the US to directly order the company’s medicines for diabetes, obesity and migraine, with the medicines delivered via third-party pharmacies. At the time, Eli Lilly said it partnered with telehealth provider Form Health, whose doctors will work with patients to determine whether a prescription for Zepbound is appropriate, while it also teamed up with Eversana and Truepill to fulfil shipping orders for LillyDirect.
