The content of the meeting clearly demonstrated the vibrant nature of current organic chem. research. In addition to the plenary lectures, the large number of posters presented at the meeting required dividing their presentations over the four evenings of the meeting. As was the case for the lectures, the posters described a wide range of organic research including natural product synthesis, catalysis, methodol., artificial receptor design, combinatorial chem., nucleotides, and enzyme inhibition. The fact that the majority of attendees remained until the last seminar demonstrates both the high level of interest in these diverse research areas in organic chem. and the success of the meeting program.
