The serum C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and its clin. significance in Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) were observedChildren with 88 cases MPP (MPP group), 75 cases bacterial pneumonia (bacterial group), 53 cases viral pneumonia (virus group) were detected, and 60 cases healthy children as control.By immune turbidimetry method, serum CRP level (the first three groups were measured on admission) in four groups was detected, 8 mg/L as pos.The pos. rate and serum CRP levels in MPP group were significantly higher than the virus and control groups, but significantly lower than the bacterial group, those in systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) were significantly higher than those with SIRS (P all < 0.05).Serum CRP level in MPP children has characteristic change, which can be used in diagnosis and illness.
