A review. In this chapter the authors discuss the newer results on cytoprotection against peripheral sensory neuropathy, ototoxicity, hematotoxicity, and hepatotoxicity obtained by the use of a novel nontoxic PARP inhibitor, BGP-15. The chemoprotective activity of BGP-15 is related to the modulation of PARP activity and the protection of mitochondria from oxidative damages.
