This paper aims to investigate the mol. weight distribution of polysaccharides in freeze-dried Panax ginseng-Aconitum napellus for injection.Polysaccharides were extracted from Panax ginseng-Aconitum napellus for injection by 95% ethanol precipitation and identified by UV spectrophotometry. The polysaccharide content was determined by spectrophotometry, and mol. weight of polysaccharide was determined by gel column chromatog. The extracted polysaccharide contained no protein and nucleic acids. The calibration curve obtained by spectrophotometry had good linearity in the range of 15.585-93.510 μg with r = 0.9991.The weight average mol. weight ranges of polysaccharides were 33.0445 × 104, 9.8878 × 104, and 5.4087 × 104, resp. This study provides references for selecting membrane for separation and purification of polysaccharides.
