Role of C5a in inflammatory reaction and development of anti-C5a antibody drugs

A review. Complement system plays an important role in the innate immune defense. However, the excessive activation of complement may lead to serious tissue damage. As one of the important products of complement activation, C5a participates in occurrence and development of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, including sepsis, acute lung injury (ALI), allergy and asthma. Anti-C5a monoclonal antibody may neutralize C5a and block the signal pathway, thus relieves the inflammation reaction, which provides a new insight for the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The structure and function of C5a as well as the development of its antibody drugs are reviewed in this paper.

Application of PD-1 antibody in therapy of tumors

A review. Tumors are closely related to immune system and they can escape immune surveillance by stimulating immune inhibitory receptors, which can be blocked by the inhibitory receptors on the T cell. This provides a potential method for anti-tumor immune therapy. PD-1 is an inhibitory receptor with sustained expression in T cell dysfunction, of which the primary function is to limit the T cell effector as the stop signal. Blocking PD-1 signal is effective in helping exhausted T cells, which plays an important role in promoting the anti-tumor immune response. This review summarizes PD-1 and its ligands, PD-1/PD-Ls signaling pathway as well as the application of PD-1 antibody in the therapy of tumors.

Progress in clinical study on anti-infectious monoclonal antibodies

A review. The emergence of multidrug-resistant bacteria and viruses of new type is growing challenge for antibiotics therapy in the treatment of infectious diseases. Based on a body of preclin. work, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are considered to have great potential to treat the bacterial and viral infections, particularly nosocomial infections. Only one mAb is approved for use against an infectious disease, though there are many in various stages of development. This review briefly summarizes the current progress in clin. research no anti-infectious mAbs.
