The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the superiority of topically administered 2PX versus placebo (vehicle) control in terms of reduction in pain intensity and physical function.

Primary: To compare the analgesic effect over 12 weeks of topical 2PX in stump pain.
Secondary: To prospectively measure other efficacy and safety variables of topical 2PX in stump pain. Exploratory analyses will be performed to measure efficacy and safety variables of topical 2PX in phantom pain

The objective of this study is to investigate the analgesic effect of topical strontium chloride in stump pain, and to prospectively determine other efficacy and safety measures of topical strontium chloride in stump pain.
