Colorado Biolabs, Overseas Healthcare Pvt Introduce Proferrin in Africa

Colorado Biolabs, Inc. (CBL) and Overseas Healthcare Ltd (Overseas) are excited to announce the launch of Fe Daily, a new product designed to address anemia in Africa. Fe Daily incorporates CBL's Proferrin® brand Heme iron polypeptide and will be available for purchase across the continent starting in 2024.

Adam Kashenberg, CEO of Colorado Biolabs, highlighted the critical issue of anemia in Africa and expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Overseas Healthcare. "Both companies have long aimed to support the residents of Africa, and we are delighted to begin offering Proferrin and Fe Daily to those in need this year," Kashenberg stated.

Overseas Healthcare, a prominent Indian pharmaceutical firm, plans to make Proferrin® accessible throughout Africa by the end of 2025 under the Fe Daily brand. Managing Director D.P. Soni emphasized the company's commitment to alleviating anemia in both Asia and Africa. "We want to bring the remarkable benefits of Fe Daily to all who suffer from anemia in these regions," Soni commented.

Proferrin® brand Heme Iron Polypeptide (HIP) from CBL is known for its superior ability to boost serum iron levels, achieving up to 23 times greater efficacy than traditional iron salts on a milligram-per-milligram basis. This high efficiency means that effective iron supplementation can be achieved with lower doses, minimizing gastrointestinal side effects. Additionally, HIP does not require the addition of Vitamin C for absorption, which is noteworthy because combining iron and Vitamin C can cause oxidative stress in the stomach lining, potentially leading to ulceration.

Manufactured in the United States by Colorado Biolabs, Inc., Proferrin® iron supplements were first introduced to the U.S. market in 2001. Today, Proferrin® is also available in Canada, the UAE, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines.
