/ RecruitingNot ApplicableIIT Find HDV and Determine Its Status in Turkey "SITU(HD)VATION"
The aim of these study to determine the prevalence of hepatitis Delta virus (HDV) infections and the prognosis of HDV patients in Turkey's southeast. The investigators intend to arrange training sessions for 250 family physicians in Diyarbakir, Batman, Mardin, and Sanliurfa in order to determine those goals. The investigators will talk about diagnosing hepatitis B virus (HBV), HDV, hepatitis C virus (HCV), and Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections during these events. To ensure that patients with simultaneous HDV infection are evaluated for HIV/HCV and to detect liver fibrosis with a non-invasive method.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the consistency between liver biopsy and Liver Stiffness Measurement (LSM) for fibrosis and controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) for steatosis in FibroScan® in patients with chronic hepatitis B. The secondary aim of the study was to demonstrate the efficacy of FibroScan® for following the CHB patients at 12th month of antiviral therapy.
The study was prospectively planned in four different centers. Patients with HBsAg positivity for more than six months and HBV-DNA>2,000 IU/mL, underwent liver biopsy and FibroScan® together within two week. FibroScan® was performed twice, before the antiviral therapy and one year later.
/ RecruitingNot ApplicableIIT Development of a Sensory Entrainment-Integrated Cognitive Game Kit to Improve Cognitive Functions in Alzheimer's Disease
In addition to ongoing drug treatments for Alzheimer Disease (AD), protective approaches that can halt the progression of the disease are of particular importance. This project aims to develop a digital application that can monitor cognitive impairment, using EEG findings proven effective at the clinical level in Alzheimer and various types of dementia, including sensory entrainment and digital cognitive games.
To this end, a collaboration between Istanbul Medipol University and Güven Future Health Technologies Inc. will develop a device featuring audio-visual sensory entrainment and digital cognitive games. This device will be made available to Alzheimer patients, and the differences between patients who use the application for three months, patients who do not use the application, and healthy controls will be evaluated through neurological examinations, neuropsychological tests, and EEG recordings indicating cognitive functions by the neurologist, project coordinator, and bursars. Monthly assessments, including EEG recordings, will also continue at home, and an application will be created to evaluate changes in cognitive functions through EEG data.
By the end of the project, an application that includes sensory entrainment and digital cognitive games, proven effective at the clinical level using EEG findings for Alzheimer dementia patients, will be developed. Additionally, a health kit capable of temporal monitoring of cognitive function changes through EEG data will have been developed.
