The moistening process is a vital part of pharmaceutical procedures.However, there are only few data concerning the anal. of phys., physicochem. and chem. processes at mol. levels following the moistening of pharmaceutical powder components.Either theor. or in a practical way, the knowledge of the actual forms of the water binding in the pharmaceutical preparations would be very important, since it can have an advantageous or disadvantageous influence on the quality parameters during wet granulation.This study demonstrated the applicability of microwave moisture measurement to follow the kinetic changes of the diffusion process of water in wetted piracetam quant.The uptake of water by the drug can be explained apparently with different order kinetics.Near IR spectra were used for quant. determination of the water content.
