Introduction

A form of necrotizing non-granulomatous inflammation occurring primarily in medium-sized ARTERIES, often with microaneurysms. It is characterized by muscle, joint, and abdominal pain resulting from arterial infarction and scarring in affected organs. Polyarteritis nodosa with lung involvement is called CHURG-STRAUSS SYNDROME.

A Clinical Study for Pan-vascular Interventional Control System in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

The goal of this prospective, single-center, single-arm study is to explore the efficacy and safety of the pan-vascular interventional robotic system for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), researchers will assess the clinical success, technical success, and record the intraoperative data (PCI time, guidewire operation time, dose of contrast medium, radiation exposure doses, etc). All subjects will be followed up on the day of surgery, before discharge (or 48 hours after surgery) and 1 month after surgery to observe the safety indicators.

Azathioprine tablets licensed by Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Xinyi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. were used as the test preparation, and Imuran licensed by Aspen Pharmacare Australia Pty Ltd was used as the reference preparation. A human bioequivalence study was conducted under fasting state to evaluate the bioequivalence of the test preparation and the reference preparation in healthy subjects, while observing the safety.

INTERogating Cancer for Etiology, Prevention and Therapy Navigation (INTERCEPTioN)

This study is being done to identify markers and causes of cancer by analyzing patient's DNA (i.e., genetic material), RNA, plasma, tissues, or other samples that could be informative for patients with cancer. Cancer genetic testing is a series of tests that finds specific changes in cancer cells and normal cells in the body. Researchers may request to access these data as they explore how to better prevent, screen, or treat cancer. This study is also being done to create a biobank (library) of samples and information to learn more about treating cancer. Discovery of genetic variants in patients with cancer could result in opportunities for cancer prevention, earlier diagnosis or better therapy for cancer.

Sudden cardiac death caused by Kawasaki coronary artery vasculitis in a child with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Case report and literature review

Coronary artery vasculitis is a rare pathological condition and is often a manifestation of systemic vasculitis, such as Polyarteritis Nodosa, Kawasaki Disease, Takayasu Arteritis, and Giant Cell Arteritis, with Kawasaki Disease being the most common cause in children. We present the autopsy case of a 6-year-old boy with classic Hodgkin lymphoma who died of sudden cardiac death due to thrombosis caused by vasculitis, which exclusively affected the coronary arteries and was suggestive of Kawasaki Disease. To further investigate the histological features of Kawasaki Disease across all age groups, we conducted a literature review using the search terms "Kawasaki AND vasculitis AND histopathology" and "Kawasaki vasculitis histopathology" in Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed, covering the period from 1967 to 2023. The inclusion criteria were as follows: coronary histology (inflammation and/or aneurysm and/or thrombosis), postmortem studies, English language, free articles, all age groups, case reports, and case series.

Elucidating the role of MICAL1 in pan-cancer using integrated bioinformatics and experimental approaches

Molecule interacting with CasL 1 (MICAL1) is a crucial protein involved in cell motility, axon guidance, cytoskeletal dynamics, and gene transcription. This pan-cancer study analyzed MICAL1 across 33 cancer types using bioinformatics and experiments. Dysregulated expression, diagnostic potential, and prognostic value were assessed. Associations with tumor characteristics, immune factors, and drug sensitivity were explored. Enrichment analysis revealed MICAL1's involvement in metastasis, angiogenesis, metabolism, and immune pathways. Functional experiments demonstrated its impact on renal carcinoma cells. These findings position MICAL1 as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target in specific cancers, warranting further investigation into its role in cancer pathogenesis.

Prognostic significance of pan-immune-inflammation value in hepatocellular carcinoma treated by curative radiofrequency ablation: potential role for individualized adjuvant systemic treatment

BACKGROUNDThis study aimed to explore the prognostic role of pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) and develop a new risk model to guide individualized adjuvant systemic treatment following radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).MATERIALS AND METHODSPatients with early-stage HCC treated by RFA were randomly divided into training cohort A (n = 65) and testing cohort B (n = 68). Another 265 counterparts were enrolled into external validating cohort C. Various immune-inflammatory biomarkers (IIBs) were screened in cohort A. Prognostic role of PIV was evaluated and validated in cohort B and C, respectively. A nomogram risk model was built in cohort C and validated in pooled cohort D. Clinical benefits of adjuvant anti-angiogenesis therapy plus immune checkpoint inhibitor (AA-ICI) following RFA was assessed in low- and high-risk groups.RESULTSThe cutoff point of PIV was 120. High PIV was an independent predictor of unfavorable recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS). RFS and OS rates of patients with high PIV were significantly lower than those with low PIV both in cohort B (P_RFS=0.016, P_OS=0.011) and C (P_RFS<0.001, P_OS<0.001). The nomogram model based on PIV, tumor number and BCLC staging performed well in risk stratification in external validating cohort C. Adjuvant AA-ICI treatment showed an added benefit in OS (p = 0.011) for high-risk patients.CONCLUSIONSPIV is a feasible independent prognostic factor for RFS and OS in early-stage HCC patients who received curative RFA. The proposed PIV-based nomogram risk model could help clinicians identify high-risk patients and tailor adjuvant systemic treatment and disease follow-up scheme.
